  I really wanted to like this place, but after a year, we let go of our membership. Shop Rite had comparable prices, and on many things Shop Rite is actually cheaper (per unit). What really did it for me was a vat of hummus, which we were set to snack on later that evening. We opened it up and the top was all moldy. I guess it's understandable that things sometimes go bad, right? But that isn't what turned me off of this place. We called them to let them know, and also check on the return policy of the untouched hummus. After a bit of attitude from the customer service desk over the phone, they told us we could return it, but we weren't planning on going back for a few days, so I tossed it in a Ziploc and put it in the freezer. We came back a few days later and went to customer service and returned the hummus with no issue, then walked right back to the hummus section. They clearly didn't even check the other containers. We could see through the tops of the containers that all of them were moldy, even after we called days prior to warn them off this issue. If that's the level of their quality control, I really just can't justify having a membership there. After all the hype, I'm really a bit disappointed.

  I went with a friend yesterday evening to the Costco liquid store to buy Kirkland Irish Cream for my coffee. The SC Costco prices are GREAT! Sure beats the NC ABC store prices. It is worth the drive and membership cost to go. Then we went inside the main store to buy Sarah Young books for gifts. Go to the SC Costco! The cost if groceries are cheaper in SC and the sales tax on food is only 1% YAY!
